Jack Adam Weber is a published poet and holds a four-year Master’s degree in
Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. He graduated valedictorian of
his class from Yo San University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Santa
Monica, California. He currently resides and is in private practice as an
acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist in Hawaii.
Mr. Weber incorporates the reading and writing of poetry into his medical
practice as a window into the soul’s innate wisdom for healing, an aspect of
ourselves often ignored and to a large degree inaccessible through the
technical practice of medicine. Presently, he is working to integrate the
healing power of poetry and the imagination into holistic healthcare. He
conducts workshops, speaking on the art of medicine and the healing power of
poetry, helping others find health and meaning in their lives through
holistic medicine and their own creative impulse.
Mr. Weber’s poems reflect the elements of nature and the beauty and
challenges of the human heart. His "Healing Poem Cards," compiled of poems
from Poetic Healing and other yet to be released publications, have already
sold thousands of copies and are carried by many doctors’ offices, health
food stores, bookstores, and natural health clinics and resorts. Mr. Weber
has just released five new sets of Healing Poem Cards on different themes
for healing: On Love, On Transformation, On Meaningful Work and Calling, on
Writing and Creativity, and On Surrender, which are displayed in the Art and
Bookstore section of this website.
Weber’s latest creations, "Healing Poetry-art," consist of poems
hand-calligraphied onto larger sheets of papers with natural images and
materials. All are framed in dark cherry wood. This series is currently
being displayed in various Los Angeles and Hawaii locations. Reproductions
of these colorful art pieces are being made into a new line of greeting
cards, which will be displayed in the Art and Bookstore when available
Jack Weber has also practiced and taught yoga, tai chi ch’uan, massage, and
western medical herbalism for the last fifteen years. Born in November of
1967, he grew up among the woods of Connecticut and Mexico and has lived
close to nature for much of his life. The son of two former Spanish
literature professors, he is part Spanish himself and fluent in the
language. He has written poetry in both English and Spanish since the age of
fourteen, as well as translated poems from Spanish to English.
